Tattoo guide

Welcome and thanks for visiting my tattoo design website. I am a tattoo enthusiast and whilst trying to find new designs and general information online about different styles of tattoo I couldn’t find it all the basic info one place. If you are an enthusiast or simply considering your first tattoo you will find some of the answers to your questions at your Tattoo Design Site Reviews.

After looking at tattoo design websites I have written reviews from my research.

You must agree that one of the hardest decisions is “what design am I going to get?”. This is not a decision you should make whilst you are sat in a tattoo parlor waiting room flipping through binder after binder of uninspiring tattoo photos. This so often results in people regretting their tattoo because they made their decision under pressure.

Find information on styles, designs and background information on tattooing in general. Also find reviews on quality tattoo design membership sites available to you.

Free access is granted by many tattoo design websites giving you thousands of designs at your fingertips. You get exactly what you pay for and I realized very quickly that the free designs were of poor quality compared to the membership site designs. When making a decision about something that will be worn for the ever you need to have access to the best quality designs to choose from. I really wanted to take time to think about all the different designs before making my decision.

Just remember the tattoo design you get will only be as good as the tattoo artist that applies it to your skin. Through Your Tattoo Design you will find out how to seek out a quality tattoo artist, how to assess a tattoo picture gallery, and how to examine an artist’s tattoo portfolio see Your Tattoo Design Site Reviews

Choosing a tattoo design is a mammoth decision, but who you choose to tattoo the artwork is an even greater one.

Good luck with your search for that perfect tattoo design, I hope you have found some of the answers to your questions here at your tattoo design.

The green goddess

The Green Goddess

Buyer Beware On Your Next Shopping Spree

You Can Bargain Shop On The Outside But Not On The Inside. Ladies it’s en vogue to go green but have you ever stopped to think what going green truly means? Well, for starters, let’s make going green mean eating as healthy & natural as possible. You can go green while getting gorgeous!

So let’s begin by discussing the big O word.

Yes, I’m talking about Organic.

What exactly is Organic Food? Here is what every stylish girl should know about Organic.

If something is Organic, it is completely and truly Natural (as natural as possible). Organic food is completely natural and hasn’t been treated with un-natural pesticides, un-natural chemicals, it isn’t genetically altered or modified and it isn’t “cloned” food (some food are secretly cloned and put into our markets without public knowledge). To be labeled Organic, a food must have gone through rigorous certification standards.

Incorporate Organic into your diet. Most food at our major supermarkets is NOT natural or close to Organic unless the Label mentions it on the cover or on the ingredient label of the product. Unfortunately, even if a label mentions that something is made with all natural ingredients it isn’t truly natural because when the fruits or foods were actually grown on the farm, the vegetables or fruits were treated with very un-natural pesticides. These are actually poisonous but not TOO poisonous if taken in small amounts, so this is how they can be used for growing food. Those un-natural chemicals slowly but surely not only get into and destroy our farmlands but also our bodies.

Another bad thing about the food that is not organic is that most of the nutritional elements in foods like the vitamins, minerals, nutrients and everything else that is good in food is actually diminished, mutated or killed by un natural things they put on it, in it and around it. So avoid food with artificial ingredients. In 1952 a woman could eat 2 peaches to get the RDA of Vitamin A. Today we would have to eat 52 peaches to get the same amount of Vitamin A, because of the destructive practices of most farmers.

Artificial food and artificial ingredients are destructive and they also pollute our entire planet along with all of us.

What’s a girl supposed to do?

The phrase you get what you pay for rings true here. Many of you may not be used to saving your pennies for organic food. You may also think that organic food is not as readily available, so why bother? I remember when I made the transition it didn’t taste as good as the highly-processed and chemical-laden food I was accustomed to eating but I’ve made a pledge to incorporate more organic food in my diet & have made the transition with fruits and vegetables. It’s better then poisoning yourself. Besides, after a short while your taste buds get used to the natural flavors of food and soon you’ll find yourself cringing at how processed food tastes!

Ladies, I suggest you start buying organic foods, fruits and vegetables at your local store (look for the word organic on the label). Just like you love those trendy boutiques, there are some chic organic markets. It’s time you find out how to get truly natural food into your life. You’ll be doing your part to save the world from these chemicals that will eventually destroy the beautiful shell we were born with from the inside out.

I’m a fan of the work of motivational author Zig Ziglar and he tells a great story that illustrates this point. He asks how you would treat a million-dollar race horse, should you own one. Would you feed it sugar and processed foods? Wake it up with coffee and put it to sleep with beer? Would you give it drugs of any kind unless they were vitally necessary? Would you let it smoke when it felt like it needed to relax? Or would you let it skip exercise and get fat?

No, you most certainly would not. You’d want to protect your investment. So why do any of these things to your own body? Its surely worth more than a billion because it’s the only one you’ve got and no amount of money will buy you a new one.

Great beauty items for gift baskets

Great Beauty Items for Gift Baskets

Gift baskets are popular for all occasions. They allow you to customize a special occasion gift to truly reflect the recipient’s likes and dislikes. Beauty, bath and spa items are favorites when putting together gift baskets, especially for women. If you’re putting together a custom gift basket for your sister, wife, mother or best friend, here are some suggestions that can help you create a fabulous basket of beauty goodies she’ll remember and enjoy for a long time to come.

Beauty Gift Basket Themes

The first step in creating a gift basket is to decide on a theme to pull it all together. Some popular themes that include beauty and cosmetic items might be a luxury spa basket, a basket of skin care products or a pampered bath gift basket.

Think outside the box here. A college student struggling with bills will probably truly appreciate a basket of funky cosmetics that she can’t afford. Items like the Beauty Addicts Pocket Six cosmetic brush set, Senna Kabuki brush, Sheer Cover Ultimate Face Collection will be a guaranteed hit.  A busy executive or waitress could be bowled over by a basket that includes luxury foot care products to soothe those aching feet. The Elizabeth Grant Foot Care Collection, pedicure set and a foot basin would make a wonderful gift basket.

Set a Gift Basket Budget

Decide how much you can afford to spend, and then work to find items that fit into your budget. One way to do that is to choose one expensive luxury item and fill in around it with lower-priced necessities that coordinate. Another way to stay within your budget is to check the clearance racks and discounted items where you can often find some real bargains. And of course, you can always buy cosmetics or beauty items in gift sets or collections, and repackage them in your own gift baskets.

Designing a Beauty Gift Basket

One of the joys of giving gift baskets is that the recipient can reuse the basket for other purposes. You might package cosmetics in a fancy cosmetic bag, for instance, or stash a collection of bath and spa items in a beautiful reusable basket. Put a collection of nail care products into a lavishly decorated keepsake trinket box, or package up a winter care skin collection with a hat and scarf set. Get creative and you’ll find some surprising gift containers that everyone on your gift list will cherish even after the contents have been used up.

Choosing Beauty Gift Basket Brands

Brands make a great theme for beauty gift baskets, especially luxury or specialty brands in beauty products. Choose a luxury name in skin care, cosmetics or spa and bath collections, then pick out specific items to fill a delicious basket or bowl with them. You’ll find great skin care products made by Intelligent Nutrients, and Skinn Cosmetic and Isomers, spa and bath products made by Mastic Spa and Borghese, hair care products made by Steve Lococco and Neil George and nail care products by Bella Pierce.

Put together a Head to Toe Beauty Gift Baskets

Instead of focusing on one aspect of beauty or skin care, put together a head to toe basket made up of several products that each take care of one part of your body. You might include a special shampoo and conditioner, a facial masque, a nail conditioner and manicure set, a body mist and body wash and a bottle of foot spray to energize those aching muscles and tendons.

How to Save Money on Beauty Gift Baskets

If you shop carefully online, you can find some of the best known names and products for the lowest prices possible. In addition, many websites that sell beauty products offer special discounts if you buy online, or may offer special Web-only discounts for those who shop online. Take the time to shop around before you buy so that you are sure you’re getting the best deal on the best products.

Gift baskets are among the best-loved and most well-received presents for good reason. Every gift basket is a whole collection of gifts, not just one. Choosing the items for a gift basket can be nearly as much fun as receiving one yourself, but if you want the best of both worlds, take advantage of special discounts and buy-one-get-one deals to ensure that you get a share of the goodies too!

Gift baskets are fun to put together and can make friends and family feel truly valued and appreciated. If you take a little time to consider what kind of beauty items the people on your gift list need or want the most, your gift baskets will be a guaranteed hit.

Miss halifax galaxy brittney blake

Miss Halifax Galaxy – Brittney Blake

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Miss Halifax Galaxy, Brittney Blake. I made her acquaintance online and found out that she is not only beautiful and smart, but is a true ambassadress. I’m excited to see what the future holds for Miss Halifax Galaxy as she gets ready to represent her country in the coming Miss Canada Galaxy pageant held this summer in Ottawa.

Part (I) to our interview:

1. Tell us about yourself, (hobbies, work, family) etc..

I am originally from a small town called Yarmouth here in Nova Scotia where our fishing industry is strong and a big part of our heritage. We have many historical sites such as Canada’s oldest Courthouse in Argyle, Canada’s oldest shipping office on our waterfront, and also a historic acadian village in Pubnico where the staff actually dress and stay in character to better describe what times of the deportation was like to people of all ages. I am currently living in Halifax where the city life is quite the leap from the country side. With more places to see, and more people to meet, Halifax is definately the right place for me. I have been able to discover so much about myself living away from home and coming to school and work, I absolutely love it here and I am very excited to represent Halifax.

Amongst living in the city, I have taken up several hobbies. I have enjoyed playing music with friends at local open mics, learning different genres of dance, and modeling. I work as a Capital Health employee at the Nova Scotia Rehab Centre (NSRC) in the Rheumatology office and can see first hand how arthritis can affect many people.

My mother and Father and little sister are all in Yarmouth – which if you didn’t know, is about a 3.5 hour drive from Halifax. Both my parents have supported me tremendously through the years and my 10 year old sister seems to really look up to me, so it’s pretty cool, she always keeps me on my toes.

2. Do you have any other titles previous to this one, and/or any previous experience with pageants?

Yes I do. In 2007 at our annual seafest festival that takes place in Yarmouth every summer,  I ran for “Seafest Queen”, and competed with 9 other girls. Being Seafest Queen gave me a greater appreciation for my home town and for my province. I learned how to speak pubically, carry conversations with people of all ages and I learned how volunteering and community involvement makes a difference. From there I was passed on the title of “Miss SouthWestern Nova Scotia 2008”, where I then began to fundraise and gain sponsorship for Miss Canada International held in Toronto that summer. At the Miss Canada International pageant, I was given the first ever “Miss Spirit” award.

…And now you are “Miss Halifax Galaxy”, how did you recieve this title?

Shortly after MCI, I came upon some photos that a friend uploaded on facebook from a pageant she recently went to, (Miss Canada Galaxy). She competed in the teen division and just seemed to really have a lot of fun with it. It didn’t take me long before I sent her a message loaded with questions about the pageant and to no surprise when she replied she had great things to say about it. So I found the website, downloaded the application and the rest is history! Well, so far anyway.. (chuckles)

3. You said you needed to fundraise and find sponsorship. What kind of process does one need to go through in order to prepare for this pageant?

It is a lot of work, the second you decide to do a pageant of this calibre you need to start fundraising right away. It can be quite a large amount of money to join a pageant and I am currently creating fundraising idea’s for myself, and ways to interest people in sponsoring me. Right now, a lot of businesses are still recovering from the recession so a bit more pursuasion is needed, but I still have a lot of time to find sponsorship so it make’s everything less stressful. Apart from preparing financially, I also need to make sure I am stocked with a wardrobe of appropriate business attire for when we make public appearances as delegates. I also need to prepare myself physically. You need to show you are physically fit and that you care for your body. It is important to have confidence as a Miss Canada delegate.

It is also asked that you find a local charity that means something to you to use as your charity platform and discuss while you are at the Miss Canada pageant. I have chosen the Children’s Wish Foundation. I absolutely adore children. Having a 10 year old sister has influenced those kind of feelings. I just want what’s best for children because they deserve it and the Children’s Wish Foundation grants what it is these children’s hearts desire more than anything in the world. If that doesn’t speak words for itself, then I don’t know what will!

4. You mentioned before the interview that you dislike the stereotypes or the misconceptions that people have about pageants, what have you heard and how do you plan to approach these stereotypes?

Generally, when I mention that I will be competing in the Miss Canada Galaxy pageant, I get a mix of excited looks, and confused looks. There are misconceptions that these pageants are strictly beauty pageants and it is all about your looks. That statement, however, couldn’t be any more incorrect. The Miss Canada Galaxy pageant has been providing women with countless opportunities to volunteer in their communities and across the nation. There will be several times where she has to prepare public speeches and discussions about charities she represents. She is a role-model for young children, and adults to look up to. Size and image is not an issue, nor is it a necessity in these pageants. I take pride that I have had the chance to be a part of something as great as the pageants I have experienced thus far. I plan to approach these misconceptions by providing the right information to anyone with questions, and I plan to show people that these women are people we should all be proud of.

5. Name a place you would like to visit in the world and why?

Actually, believe it or not, I have traveled all over except in Canada! I have only been to Toronto and the Maritimes. This is why I am so excited for Miss Canada, it’s in Ottawa! So I would have to say that if I could go to any place right now,  it would be anywhere in Canada.

6. You also said you model, does that have an influence on you and your pageants?

Yes, because I have been modeling for 4 years now, I gain many experiences that help me with pageants. I learn how to walk gracefully and pose correctly for photos.

7. What have you done to be more involved with your community?

Well, I have had the opportunity to vounteer many times through seafest at community events. I volunteered for the Memorial club which is a club of teens dedicated to honoring veterans of war. I also volunteered for Childrens Breakfast Program and Amnesty International. I will be volunteering for the Childrens Wish Foundation and the Lupus society this spring. I also wouldn’t mind putting together a relay team for the Canadian Cancer Society’s annual “Relay for life”.  So as you can see, I am a busy girl!

8. What is your favorite part of being in a pageant?

I get to meet so many people. I still talk to some of the girls from the last pageant I was in, and I actually plan to go to Ottawa a day early to connect with a girl that I competed with at MCI. Learning about the cultures of the world is one thing. I’ve been to Europe and experienced a lot of different cultures, but that wont change how much I love to learn about our own cultures and what we have to offer. It is all life experiences for me, and I grow with each pageant I do.

9. What makes you proud to be a Canadian?

Our freedom. We are so fortunate to have our fellow canadian soldiers fighting for our freedom and also for the freedom of other countries. I am proud that we are so diverse. And can I mention how proud I am about the results of our olympic winter games in Vancouver?.. Go Canada!

Lastly what is your message to all the people reading this interview?

I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to support me and show their love. Good luck to my fellow contestants who I am very excited to meet this summer! And I can’t wait to represent Halifax and it would be an honour to be your Miss Canada Galaxy 2010-11. Peace and love.
