Hairstyles To Celebrate the Season
Bouncy curves full of body, edgy rock n roll, and beautiful tiny horses hair cuts comprise three of the summer’s top hairstyle fashion trends, according to an art director of a leading hair fashion house. After assessing the fashion shows in Tokyo and Milan, notable international ad campaigns like Louis Vuitton and Calvin Klein, and exorbitantly famous celebrities like Pink, he continues, “These are the hairstyle trends, but I always stress that modern trends are meant to be elastic. Adapt them to your age, your hair type, your personal style. That, I think is the best way to look at beauty.”
Summer’s Updo
“Many runways shows this summer featuring simple looks”, said the art director with hair pulled. “When the hair doesn’t cover too much of the face,” he says, “it instantly shows an innocent, beautiful ‘I had a great night’s sleep’ effect. Whenever I need to inject some some pizazz to a hairstyle, I lift it off the face” Right now, he loves youthful, groomed ponies and buns, and what makes them particularly modern, he says, is the foundational texture. “Make sure the hair is dry so it looks polished and smooth with tons of bounce and body,” he advises. “Velcro or heated rollers, or the K-PAK ReconstRx Vapor Iron will a smooth finish that’s curved at the ends.” Want to know another trendy touch? Use a small tail comb to create a deep side part before gathering up the hair. “Low parts off to the side are totally hot right now”, he declares.
Hair Tip: Tame flyaways with K-PAK Protect Shine Serum or Smoothing Balm, followed by K-PAK Protective Hairspray. Rub the serum into palms and run your hands lightly over the surface of the hair.
Pin-Up Girl
40’s pin-up models like Betty Grable struck the perfect balance between sex appeal and girl-next-door , and that’s the overall effect of this hair trend, says the artist. Start with soft body, created with a handy rollers, then brush through with a firm brush like a Mason Pearson to loosen the curls. Next, gently pull the top portion of the hair to the top of the head and secure loosely with plenty of volume on top.
Tip: Prep hair for roller sets with a professional hair care product that gives hair “grip” like K-PAK Thermal Design Foam. “This product is one of my favorites” says the artist. “It contains a very good setting agent that gives you hold, but it also lets you manipulate the hair.” If hair is fine and needs even more “bite,” try Texture Spray. It’s lightweight, so it won’t cause fine strands to collapse, but it provides plenty of style support. “Feel free to layer it on,” adds the artist, “if you need more style strength.”
Now that the serum is there, your hair will be so soft and manageable. Take a feel, I bet you will be suprised!
