I want to also add that being polite also shows respect and consideration for others. Apart from how such behaviors might affect you, they strongly reflect on your character. It also shows you have a deep and respectful appreciation for YOURSELF- which is VERY important. Secondly, for those around you.

 First impressions are the most lasting. No matter what the occasion, it is always important to present yourself in the best possible manner. You are constantly being observed. If you are seen displaying proper etiquette, that is a much better way to be remembered!

 In business etiquette is a beautiful thing…You can have the right look phenomenal presentation skills but if you wish to be successful in a down economy your contact should be constant. Remember people are inundated with messages every day. You want to stand out in a crowd of thousands, maybe millions or better yet billions.
