Behind Cancer And Careers Is Beauty
In line with the cancer awareness campaign and uplifting of morale of cancer patients and survivors, leaders in the beauty industry take on with a campaign drive in support of Cancer and Careers (CAC).
Bare Escentuals, Decleor, DuWop, En Pointe Skin Solutions, Shiseido, SUNDARI, 3LAB, and Tribal Societe are the beauty companies who pledged their support to donate their earnings from their products. Bare Escentuals will contribute their Believe Eyecolor sales for the month of September and October. Decleor promised their Lip balm and Cleansing Wipe. It’s the Pink Shimmer Lip Venon for DuWop, the Makeup Luminizing satin Eyecolor in Peony for Shiseido and the complete line for En Pointe. SUNDARI and 3LAB, on the other hand, will donate 10% of their sales. These drives will run from September to November 2009.
In addition to these beauty companies, the website Beauty.com is also donating its thirty brands’ sale for the month of October. Also, their site will run promotions, feature information and discounts for cancer patients.
Cancer and Careers (CAC) is the first and only organization which support cancer-patients with their treatments, help cancer-survivors challenge life again and career men and women who has cancer. CACs advocacy is to empower cancer patients and crusade a change in cancer in workplaces. The organization’s mission is to gather resources and support systems and gather all information, and make these all available through their website. Having a website that is rich in facts and information is the organization’s way of making information accessible. With these, cancer patients can visit the site and get information that they need to continue going through work and life. Aside from having a comprehensive and broad website, CAC also dedicates its time in providing free publications, educational seminars, career coaching and series of support groups for employees with cancer, employers, coworkers, healthcare providers and caregivers.
The organizations’ book, Living and Working with Cancer, which is available in English and Spanish, has been distributed to almost 70,000 cancer survivors among 50 states and around the world. This book is free of charge. CACs website, cancerandcareers.org, serves more than 132,000 visitors per year via their informative articles, features and interactive tools.
Life must go on – a phrase that is easier said than done especially among cancer patients. But with CAC’s widespread campaign and is reciprocated by the outpouring of support, life, really must go on. And with beauty products taking part in this drive, it’s good to know that when you put those facial creams and best face lotion, you do not just make yourself look good, but also you helped make other lives better.
