Should You Sell Avon?
I am often surprised by the amount of angst produced while contemplating to sell Avon. In reality becoming an Avon representative isn’t that big of a deal. You decide just how much or how little you do and if you don’t feel like doing it any more, you just quit. The risk is very low, just $10 to sign up($20 online to pay for shipping) and then whatever time you spend doing it. Obviously there is effort and learning required, but Avon has done a good job of keeping it simple and working with us.
I think the most important thing is getting signed up under a good Avon rep. I have talked with some new reps. and they have felt abandoned by their upline(the person who signed them up). They call them with questions, but only get voice mail and never have calls returned(we know that basically everyone has caller ID, so people know when we called) and that get’s discouraging to say the least. That’s not to say that your upline must be available 24 hrs a day, but returning a call or email asap sure helps!
I don’t think I would still be selling Avon if my upline hadn’t helped me as much as he did(does). I have tried to do the same for my downline(people I signed up). I really don’t understand why someone would go to all the effort to sign up a person to sell Avon and then not help them learn the ropes. I have signed people up that live thousands of miles away from me, but have been ready and willing to help them. I have even been on the phone with some as they submitted their first or even second order online!
Ultimately, your success at selling Avon depends upon you. I have given the same amount or been willing to give the same amount of help to all Reps. I have signed up and the hardest workers and most determined have success. I have even signed up a some who never even register their account with Avon and try to sell!
Avon isn’t perfect and is just another money making machine, buy hey, why rage against the machine when you can join it!
