How To Soften Weathered Skin
Skin can be weathered by many factors. The most common are sun, heat and wind. If you have not protected your skin from these conditions in the past, then you may have started to notice that your skin is tough and wrinkled in appearance. Fortunately, weathering does not have to be permanent. You can soften weathered skin with dedication, patience and simple beauty regimens.
Exfoliate your skin regularly. This removes dead skin cells and reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Use the exfoliating cleanser to scrub away the dead skin. On areas of your body other than your chest, neck and face, apply the loofah to the process as well. Your chest, neck and face can be damaged by the loofah, so use a soft cloth instead.
Massage vitamin E oil into your damaged skin. Vitamin E oil will help the skin start to grow new, smooth, undamaged skin cells more quickly. Use your fingertips to rub the oil into the weathered areas. The massaging motion will also stimulate blood flow to the areas, increasing the speed of new cell growth.
Moisturize your skin at least twice a day. For severe weathering, 3 or 4 times a day is better. Work the moisturizer into your skin, and do not apply other makeup until it is completely absorbed.
Protect your skin from further damage. This means that you need to wear sunscreen and if you smoke, stop. Otherwise, these elements will do new damage faster than the weathering can be reversed.
